The Sri Dasmesh Band is the only Sikh band in South East Asia and one of the elite few Sikh bands in the world. The idea of creating a Sikh Band was born way back in 1988. We wanted to give the Sikh community something to be proud of and something the Sikhs can call our very own. From a small group of 15 members, it has today, grown in strength and skill to become one of the leading bands not only in Malaysia but in South East Asia. Our members range from working professionals to university students and school going teenagers.

The Sri Dasmesh Band has international recognition and we are always flooded with requests for performances by various communities. We have travelled all over Malaysia and Singapore and won the hearts of the people with our music and our stunning uniforms. We have won several competitions including the 23rd Annual Jakarta Highland Gathering Pipe Band Competition in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The Sri Dasmesh Band owes its success and growth to its visionary and charismatic leader, Drum Major Sukdev Singh who has not only made the Sikhs proud by giving the Sikh Community our very own Band, but who has continuously motivated members to excel in every way. His dedication and vision for the Sikhs continue to inspire and touch the hearts of the people who come into contact with him.

Sri Dasmesh is also well known as a Kirtan and Parchaar Jatha. The 'Sri Dasmesh Jatha' participates in all major Sikh celebrations and Gurpurabs, carrying the torch of our divine faith everywhere we go. We are totally committed to raising the awareness of the Sikh youth of today with our messages for the 21st century.

Sri Dasmesh is also a pioneer in establishing the concept of 'Camp Khalsa', a camp which is dedicated towards reviving the Gursikh way of life as practiced by our Master, Guru Gobind Singh. The camps are held in the lovely rolling countryside surrounded by streams which are abundant in Malaysia... Here, we are one with nature and this beautiful Mother Earth. Our programs focus on team-building, problem-solving and creativity through positive adventure based activities and environmental explorations.

Today, Sri Dasmesh continues to grow into a global Khalsa family. We continue to grow in strength and spirit by the day and our vision continues to reach for the sky....
